Friend — when I saw this news, I was sick to my stomach:

Rick Scott - I am running to be the next Senate Republican leader.

This means my race to retire Rick Scott could decide BOTH the Senate majority and the majority leader.

If we thought the current GOP Senate leadership was bad, we really don't want the guy whose agenda was too extreme for Mitch McConnell to take his place. He already laid out his plan for the country:

❌Pass a national abortion ban
❌End Medicare and Social Security
❌Raise taxes on the middle class

Now more than ever, it is vital that we kick him to the curb this November.

So please, friend, we need to raise $250,000 by midnight to make sure this nightmare won't come true. I'm counting on you to do your part before 11:59 p.m. and split $5, or anything you can between Ben Ray Luján and my campaign to help me flip Florida blue, defend our Democratic majority, and block a Rick Scott-led Senate.

Make no mistake: Mitch McConnell's time as Senate GOP leader was one of the worst things to ever happen to the Senate. It will take years for our country and our democracy to fully recover from his decades of corruption, cronyism, extremism, and obstruction.

But Rick Scott as Senate GOP leader would be much, much worse.

He oversaw one of the biggest Medicare frauds in U.S. history and used the money to buy his seat. Then he wrote the plan to raise taxes on working families and end Medicare and Social Security. THEN, he co-sponsored a nationwide ban on abortions that could send doctors to prison. All that destruction and he's only been in the Senate for a single term. Imagine what he could do as GOP Leader.

In short — Rick Scott shouldn't be allowed to step foot in the U.S. Senate, let alone lead the GOP caucus, whether they have the majority or not.

But with McConnell out of the way, Scott is under the impression that this will be an easy win. I need your help to prove him wrong.

This is a make-or-break moment not just for my campaign but for our entire country. My team set a $250,000 emergency fundraising goal to make sure we never see a Rick Scott-led Senate, and it will take each and every one of us doing our part to hit it. I'm hoping I can count on you to split just $5 between Ben Ray Luján and my campaign to make sure we don't fall short so we can defeat Rick Scott.

Let's do this.
