With headlines about the extremist antics of the Florida GOP a mainstay of the 24/7 news cycle, many people wrote us off from the get-go. I never let them get me down, but I never expected how far we'd come, or how fast. 

And now, Sunshine State voters have a golden opportunity to turn the red tides 180º this November, to hold Rick Scott accountable for his decades-long crusade against reproductive rights and working families, and to strike down Florida's six-week abortion ban altogether.

It all goes to show that the movement we've built together has put Florida on the frontlines of the fight to save reproductive rights nationwide — and major organizations like Planned Parenthood are paying attention.

They know that as Florida's next Senator, my number-one priority will be to take back the freedoms that Republicans like Rick Scott fought so hard to steal, and restore reproductive rights for every Floridian, and every American.

But the newfound national attention is certain to inject more extremist backlash, more personal attacks, and more mega-millions into this race — both from Rick Scott and national Republicans alike.
