The GOP majority on the House Agriculture Committee just voted to advance their partisan Farm Bill out of committee.
This legislation seeks to cut $30 billion from SNAP nutrition benefits and undercuts the support for climate-friendly agriculture practices that our SEEC Members passed in the Inflation Reduction Act.
This Farm Bill robs our farmerss of the opportunities to do all they can to improve soil health, reduce fertilizer costs, and improve soil water retention, all while enhancing the resilience of our communities and planet.
House Republicans are choosing to sacrifice the well-being of America’s farmers rather than admit we’re in the midst of a climate crisis and our farmers are a part of the solution.
Their egregious attempts to cut the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP) would literally take food away from hungry families and children over the next decade.
Our goal is to pass a bipartisan Farm Bill, but the GOP have chosen a different course. Now we have to stop them from enacting their extreme partisan agenda.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
