Here’s something utterly shocking. Despite having the supermajority, Oklahoma Republicans can't get it together. And it’s going to hurt people’s pocketbooks if they can’t. Here’s why:
First: Our Republican governor pitched an extreme tax break for the rich that would benefit the wealthy and leave our state bankrupt — cutting $800 million in revenue for essential programs.
Then: The Republican Senate President Pro Tempore refused to bring it for a vote OR propose a way to make up that revenue.
Now: The Republican President Pro Tempore and the Governor are firing cheap shots at each other as the session draws to a close and they haven’t addressed any of the real issues Oklahomans are dealing with.
It’s crystal clear, John – despite Republicans having a supermajority in our state, they can’t get it together.
We can’t let these boneheads stay in charge — there is too much at stake.
