Dear neighbor,

While we have received positive economic reports in recent weeks, Democrats understand that American families are feeling the strain of high prices. The cost of items like groceries and prescription drugs and gas are high and a number of Americans are having trouble making ends meet.

That’s why, when Democrats were in control of Congress, we passed laws to ease supply chain bottlenecks, lower the price of prescription drugs, and bring high-tech manufacturing to the United States, all in efforts to lower prices for American families. Together with President Biden, House Democrats remain committed to lowering costs, creating good-paying jobs and eliminating unfair fees for consumers. Check out my full remarks from this week’s House Democratic Caucus leadership press conference below.

CARING FOR OUR HEROES: As an Air Force veteran, I know that we have an obligation to care for all of our nation’s heroes when they return home. This commitment must be honored through concrete action to make sure that veterans receive the care and support they deserve.

Last Congress, House Democrats and President Biden passed the Honoring our PACT Act to expand benefits for veterans exposed to toxic and hazardous substances during their time in the service. This week, President Biden and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that they have approved one million claims submitted under the PACT Act, connecting more veterans and their families with essential medical care and resources. I look forward to continuing this work to support our veterans alongside my colleagues in Washington. If you or a loved one needs assistance with the VA, please reach out to my Los Angeles office at (323) 651-1040.
