We must
be New
John --
We must build a new kind of political party and we must rely on new
people getting involved in politics. Our convention will be a great
place to experience what this can be. We've invited guest speakers
from advocacy groups for electoral reform issues, experienced
activists, and candidates. We have planned trainings on all the skills
we're developing to create success and addresses from our statewide
candidates Eric Settle and Chris Foster.
There are no better people to spend the day with than Forward
supporters. Are you interested in making real change to the way things
are done but can't stand the negativity and hopelessness of today's
politics? Do you dream of a better political environment without all
the nastiness and partisan games, and do these dreams get dismissed as
naive or impractical? Us too.
"3rd party's never work", "they're just spoilers", "politics will
never change, pick a side". If you hear these things, we want you.
We're not going to try to force you into a political box, we want
people to express their own views, and help them see themselves
reflected in their government. If that sounds like a naive utopian
vision by a group that doesn't know how things really work, I'm sorry
we must be new, because it sounds perfectly reasonable to us.
