World of 8 Billion Photo Contest Winners Announced!

Now in its 13th year, the World of 8 Billion student video contest has received over 29,000 student videos on the impacts of population dynamics since its inception. Thousands of students are now more aware of the vast connections between population growth and so many of today’s pressing global challenges.
This year's contest saw 3,170 video submissions covering the topics of climate migration, health, and invasive species. Over 4,600 students from 44 U.S. states and 58 countries took part. See the winning entries on the World of 8 Billion website, below!

Our third annual summer photo contest is opening for entries next week! We want you to submit YOUR original photographs that celebrate the people, places, and wildlife you're most passionate about protecting.
We’re looking for quality photos to feature on our website and in our newsletters. The winning image will be spotlighted in the upcoming September 2024 issue of Population Connection magazine. The contest closes on World Population Day, which is Thursday, July 11 th .

You Are Invited to a Panel Event Celebrating World Rainforest Day!

Join us and three of our Global Partners in celebrating World Rainforest Day! We are honored to host Conservation Through Public Health, Lemur Love, and Women for Conservation for a Zoom panel discussion.
Representatives from each organization will share insights into their conservation programs and educational initiatives, which empower the communities they serve to protect their local forests. After learning more about each of these amazing organizations, we'll move into a Q&A session. During the session, we'll ask partners questions about their work to better understand how their vital programs are working to foster a more sustainable future for our planet.
The panel will take place on Thursday, June 27 th , at 2:00pm ET/ 11:00am PT . Register below!
