This week, two progressive organizations – the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and Planned Parenthood Votes – announced huge investments in digital ads and get-out-the-vote operations for Ohio’s upcoming Supreme Court elections.

Before we ask you to chip in to our Judicial Fund to help us flip the Republican-controlled Ohio Supreme Court, we want to talk more about what these investments mean.

First, just because these groups are investing in Ohio’s Supreme Court elections, doesn’t mean that we let up. The more money they funnel into Ohio to help us flip the Court from red to blue, the harder Republicans will try to match it.

Secondly, it’s not surprising these groups are investing in Ohio because last November proved our state is winnable. For too long, Ohioans have had to endure a Supreme Court that puts politics over people. And with the Court expected to rule on MAJOR issues – including how Issue 1 is implemented (plus a slew of other abortion access arguments), partisan gerrymandering, voter suppression, and more – we simply can’t afford to have justices on the Court who don't honor the rule of law.

Not to mention we’re the only state in the entire country with the chance to flip our Supreme Court. They know as well as we do that this is a big opportunity.

So while we’re thankful we’re receiving this national attention, we want to remind you that the battle is only just beginning and our work is far from over.
