Hey — I hope you’re having a good week. Now that we’re officially in the General Election, I’m reaching out with a small request that would mean a lot to me:
So, here’s a brief(-ish) explanation of why I’m making this request: There are a lot of policy differences between me and my opponent in this race. To take just one example, I helped pass Oregon’s law protecting abortion rights in our state. My opponent has repeatedly attacked that law and wants it repealed. But the differences go beyond policy. This is the same opponent I faced in 2022. It was a knock-down, drag-out kind of campaign, and he personally poured in millions of dollars to try to beat me. We know he’ll do the same thing this time around — and we know that he’s backed by deep-pocketed super PACs who have already pledged to target this district in their effort to ban abortion nationwide and keep the House under Republican control. But I’m running a different kind of campaign. We’re powered by thousands of grassroots supporters giving what they can, when they can — hardworking folks who care about our democracy, about our basic freedoms, and about leadership that puts real progress over partisanship and empty soundbites. That’s exactly the kind of leadership I’ve worked so hard to provide for our community, and I’m proud of the results we’ve achieved together. But there’s so much more work to do — from making abortion legal and accessible in all 50 states, to making our economy fairer for the working people who are struggling today. And winning this next election represents our very best shot of getting it done. And we will only win if we all step up.
