Of course, this isn’t the first time he’s used Nazi rhetoric.
Last year, he said that immigrants were "poisoning the blood" of America, echoing language from Hitler’s autobiography, Mein Kampf. Trump said he didn’t know it was language used by Hitler…and then proceeded to repeat it several times.
And we all remember hearing about how he told his chief of staff that “Hitler did a lot of good things.”
All of this is despicable.
And here’s where it gets even worse: While their party leader is echoing and praising Hitler and Nazis, Congressional Republicans are playing politics with antisemitism.
Today’s GOP is using the very real and dangerous rise of antisemitic rhetoric and violence to score points, weaponizing Jewish pain and politicizing it for their own gain. Simultaneously, they’re revering a leader who invokes Hitler – and in many cases, stoking antisemitism themselves, trafficking in conspiracy theories and giving platforms to white supremacists and white nationalists.
This is the very definition of operating in bad faith.
We cannot accept a second Trump term, and we cannot accept a continued Republican majority in the House.
I’m going to keep doing everything I can to stop those things from happening. I’m proud to be supporting the Biden-Harris campaign out on the trail, working hard to defeat my own MAGA opponent, and doing what I can to help my fellow Democrats in key races around the country.
If you agree that we absolutely need to deliver resounding victories for Democrats in November, I’m asking you to take action today:
