THE WEEK's BIG 3

The presidents of Northwestern and Rutgers universities defended their decisions to end pro-Palestinian encampments through negotiations while testifying before a House Committee on Thursday. The Biden administration joined bipartisan leaders in condemning the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to its decision to seek arrest warrants against Israeli leaders. The families of several Israeli female soldiers taken hostage during the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7 released video of their abduction in an attempt to to revive stalled cease-fire talks that could pave the way for the captives’ release.

In House Hearing, Republicans Demand Discipline for Student Protesters
“House Republicans used words like “violence,” “hijacking” and “chaos.” They asked the university leaders why so few protesters had been suspended. They showed videos and wielded a document with a bright red “F” grade. The leaders of Northwestern, Rutgers and the University of California, Los Angeles, responded with phrases like “due process,” “appropriate penalties” and “task force.” The New York Times:  FULL STORY

Biden denounces ICC for ‘outrageous’ implication of equivalence between Israel and Hamas

“The Biden administration on Monday forcefully denounced efforts by the International Criminal Court to seek arrest warrants for top Israeli officials and Hamas leaders, saying the court’s efforts put the terrorist organization and a top US ally on equivalent footing.” CNN: FULL STORY

ADL Tweet:  The ICC’s prosecutor’s announcement is a shameful, brazenly political assault against the Jewish state. We urge the ICC judges to reject the prosecutor’s morally corrupt anti-Israel recommendation.

Hostage families release new video of October Hamas attack in Israel

“A new video released by families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza shows seven female Israeli soldiers after they were captured by Hamas. Release of the video was aimed at increasing pressure on Israel to reach a cease-fire deal.” NBC News:   FULL STORY

+ADL Tweet: These women, whom one of the terrorists refers to as "the girls that can get pregnant," have been in captivity for 230 days. Hamas recorded their barbaric crimes on Oct. 7. Don't look away from Hamas’ inhumanity. Call it what it is - terrorism. #BringThemHome

+Jonathan Greenblatt Tweet: Witnessing Hamas’s atrocities against Israeli innocents in Be’eri, Israel was heartbreaking. On one hand, 10/7 deniers try to gaslight us into believing this never happened. On the other, Hamas’s crimes are being cheered. This is what intifada looks like, & we will #NeverForget.

KEY ADL SOCIAL STATEMENTS

  • Iranian Pres. Ebrahim Raisi's death changes nothing. The Iranian regime and Hamas remain united in their commitment to the genocidal destruction of Israel. Ismail Haniyeh's eulogy thanking Raisi for his support for the 10/7 massacre is further proof of their shared hateful goal.
