As we celebrate a century of service, NVFS isn’t just looking back, we’re looking forward. We’re excited to introduce the NVFS Fund for Families, a campaign that will address the evolving needs of our community like growing our holistic service model, investing in our frontline team members, and increasing capacity for our most in-demand programs. We need your support to reach our ambitious $5 million fundraising goal. Your contribution sends a powerful message that uplifting our neighbors is a top priority.

NVFS’ Celebrates 100 Years of Service

NVFS kicked off a milestone year with our 100 Years of Service Celebration on May 3rd at Alexandria’s Torpedo Factory Art Center. Attendees heard stories of resilience and multi-generational transformation from former clients. Clients, staff, government officials, and NVFS supporters gathered to enjoy food and drinks, painted a 100th anniversary mural, and celebrated the community we work together to make stronger and more vibrant for everyone.

The event raised funds to support NVFS’ work in the community, ensuring that our neighbors and families are connected to support services to build a thriving future. We invite you to view photos of the event.

CARE Applications Due in Three Weeks!

For more than 30 years, NVFS has been honoring exceptional companies with the CARE Awards. These awards recognize businesses that are creating a supportive, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere where employees and businesses are poised to thrive.

Help Us Gear Up Kids for Back2School

We need your help with our quest this summer – successful completion of our Back2School Drive! School starts earlier this year and so we've got to get started collecting school supplies early too. A backpack of new school supplies can give a child the level up they need to begin the school year right AND help ease the financial burden for the family. 

Check out these easy ways to help the children from NVFS programs gear up to ace their dreams.

• Donate today!

• Shop for school supplies from our list and drop them off during one of the following donation days at 12955 Fair Lakes Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22033 (next to the Starbucks), see the map here: Wednesday, July 24 – 9am-1pm or Thursday, July 25 – 1pm-6pm

• Organize a school supply drive! If you are a corporate or civic group interested in organizing a school supply drive, please contact Lacy Hurst at [email protected].

• Shop our wish list. It will be open in early. Check for the link to appear on the Back2School website then.

• Partner with NVFS and our community by sponsoring the Back2School drive.

NVFS Recieves Grant from 100WomenStrong to Continue Work in Loudoun County

We're excited to share that NVFS has been awarded a grant from 100WomenStrong to support critical mental health services for youth through our Youth Initiatives program in Loudoun County! 

At NVFS, we've been committed to the Loudoun community for over 20 years, and this grant helps us expand our impact even further. With plans to open a new childcare center later this year, we're proud to grow alongside the vibrant Loudoun community. 100WomenStrong founder Karen Schaufeld emphasized, "For our community to thrive, we all need to participate; it’s collaborative, not competitive." We couldn't agree more!
