Hi John – You’ve probably received a lot of emails asking for support lately, maybe even in the last few minutes.
That means it’s on me to tell you why our campaign is different, and why contributing $10 to help us out is a valuable investment when you could just as easily spend it elsewhere.
If you don’t mind reading for another couple of minutes, here are four reasons to consider supporting our race:
- If we lose, my seat will be taken by an anti-choice extremist. National Republicans have already shown us their hand. They want to ban abortion, restrict access to reproductive healthcare, and block affordable healthcare for the most vulnerable among us. If they defeat me, that’s the agenda they’ll be pushing in Congress.
- If we win, we’ll have a strong chance to reinstate abortion rights nationwide. Here’s why: the House Republicans have a very slim majority. To maintain control, they need to defeat Democratic incumbents — and I’m a top target. Holding this seat and flipping a few more can help us secure a pro-choice majority in the House.
- I broke new ground to get where I am today — and I’m committed to helping others overcome barriers. A few years ago, most people would have doubted that the daughter of Mexican immigrants, the first in her family to graduate from college, could flip a congressional seat in Colorado. Yet here I am, fighting so that every American, regardless of their background, can achieve their dreams.
- We have our work cut out for us. CO-08 is the most competitive race in the country. Top super PACs have made defeating me a priority, with funds pouring in from anti-abortion activists and election deniers. The only way we can counter this is with robust grassroots support (which is why I need to send emails like this one).
So, what do you say? Does this sound like a cause worth investing $10 in? If it does, and you’re ready to help me hold this critical seat in the next election, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Thank you for your time and everything you do to support our campaign. I truly appreciate it.
