John, the New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer recently collaborated on a battleground state poll. And John, I have some good news — and some bad news.

The good news is that if the election were held today, the Democratic Senate candidates would win in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada.

That would put us well on our way toward defending our 51-49 Senate majority, with Jon Tester in Montana and Sherrod Brown in Ohio also in close races.

But here’s the bad news: In the same battleground states the Times and Inquirer polled, Trump leads Biden in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, and Nevada.

Before I go any further, let me state plainly: Were the election held today and these results were accurate, Donald Trump would be elected president.

Now John, polls are not predictive. They are a snapshot in time. They show campaigns where we need to go, and what we need to do to win. We can gain insight from them, and apply those insights into action.

But John, it’s clear that we need to rapidly redouble our efforts — or else we could be facing a second Trump term. Will you rush $3 to ensure we do NOT fall short of our May fundraising goal and can invest the resources to re-elect President Biden and defend the Senate? [[link removed]]
