Happy weekend –
The coronavirus pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to the country, our state, and our district. Even in the midst of these trials, however, I am amazed at the strength and fortitude of my East Valley neighbors. You all are exceeding expectations to encourage each other, to help those in need, to donate resources, and to exude optimism.
WE ARE STILL WORKING FOR YOU!
Last month, I temporarily closed my district office to visitors based on the latest CDC guidelines. My staff has been hard at work every day to assist our constituents and answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have a question dealing with a federal agency or federal legislation. We are here to help.
QUESTIONS ABOUT SBA LOANS?
The Small Business Administration is offering loan programs to help small business owners weather the temporary effects of the coronavirus crisis. Last month, Congress authorized $377 billion for these initiatives, and that funding is likely to increase substantially in the coming weeks. My goal is to ensure as many East Valley business owners as possible are able to benefit from this assistance. More information can be found here. Please do not hesitate to contact my district office if you need any help applying for these loans.
LISTEN TO MY LATEST TELEPHONE TOWN HALL RECORDING
This week, I spoke to thousands of you on a telephone town hall. We were privileged to have Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich on the line at the beginning to talk about how to protect ourselves against consumer scams and fraud. Click this link to listen to the call in its entirety.
HELP FOR OUR VETERANS
Yesterday, I joined Concerned Veterans for America to discuss the state of veterans’ health care amid the coronavirus pandemic, what veterans need to know during this unprecedented time, and what they can do to make a difference. Check back next week for a recording. In the meantime, East Valley veterans can click this link for more information from the Phoenix VA.
OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES FOR ARIZONANS
Arizona has been fortunate to have Governor Doug Ducey at the helm of our state during this time. I have been in regular contact with him and his team about the steps he is taking to mitigate the spread of the virus, protect the health and safety of all Arizonans, and give our economy an opportunity for a quick rebound. His team created ArizonaTogether.org to “access volunteer opportunities and other important resources.” I hope you will check it out.
HELPING ARIZONANS COME HOME
I am so pleased that in the midst of this coronavirus crisis my office was able to help over a dozen Arizonans traveling abroad in 8 countries around the globe return home to their families.
ECONOMIC IMPACT PAYMENT QUESTIONS
Do you have questions about the Economic Impact Payment you may be eligible for under the recently passed CARES Act? Click this link to find out more information from the IRS, including for Arizonans who may not have filed their taxes for 2018 or 2019.
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO ARE SERVING!
Many people have answered the call of duty to serve our East Valley communities during this time. This week, I wanted to highlight our doctors, nurses, first responders, and public safety officers who are reporting for duty every day. Arizona’s Fifth District salutes and honors you.

As always, I am extremely humbled by the trust that you have bestowed upon me and honored to serve as your Congressman.
