John,
As Real Justice’s Organizing Director, it’s my job to make sure our team has the resources needed to talk to voters, bring more folks involved into our movement, and organize actions to hold district attorneys accountable across the country.
The truth is that the organizing tools and digital software we need to run our grassroots organizing program can be quite expensive. And in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever that we’re able to:
→ Send text messages to voters in key districts so we can identify and turn out as many voters as possible.
→ Email volunteers to mobilize at critical moments, whether it’s to take part in making calls or signing onto petitions to District Attorneys across the country who aren’t serving their communities.
→ Organize volunteers to call and write letters to stakeholders urging them to decarcerate our jails during the COVID-19 crisis.
We know that things are tough for a lot of folks right now and if you can’t afford to make a contribution today, we understand. But if you can afford to chip in any amount, it would really help us pay for our digital organizing tools so we can continue to fight to elect reform-minded District Attorneys.
Thank you all that you’re doing to help us power this movement for real justice. I hope you are staying safe and healthy.
In solidarity,
Chris Lazare
