Stop the Steal. Appeal to Heaven.

Those are some of the flags insurrectionists carried when they stormed the Capitol on January 6th. They’re also the same flags that, thanks to recent news accounts, we learned were flying in Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s front yard.

Right now, Alito and his MAGA cronies on the Supreme Court are delaying accountability for Trump for violently trying to overturn the 2020 election, which is even less surprising now that we know Alito was practically flying a Trump “Get Out of Jail Free” card at his vacation home.

This is dangerous. We need a Supreme Court that stands up for the rights of  the American people—including our right to choose our leaders—not insurrectionist former presidents. Send an email to your legislators, telling them why we urgently need Supreme Court reform.

TAKE ACTION

Unfortunately, helping Trump get off the hook for his crimes isn’t the only thing Justice Alito and the MAGA Supreme Court buddies are doing to undermine our democracy this week.

In a decision penned by Alito today, the Supreme Court ruled that South Carolina Republicans can proceed with a racially gerrymandered map that weakens the power of Black voters. They opened the floodgates for even more racial gerrymandering in states across the country.

Alito is broadcasting his true colors loud and clear. But, until Congress actually uses its power to pass a binding code of ethics for the Court, we can’t even make him recuse himself from the January 6th case. And until Congress passes Supreme Court term limits, we’re stuck with Alito until he either retires or dies.

It’s time to get serious about the systemic issues facing the highest court in the land. We deserve a way to hold corrupt, unethical justices accountable and to make sure we have an impartial Court—not a group of Trump cheerleaders.

In a few clicks, send an email to your legislators. Tell them you support Supreme Court reform—and they should too.

Thanks for all that you do.
