Dear Friend,
Since our humble beginnings, America has been a nation of doers. That especially holds true in southern Missouri where sweating for the pride that comes with a hard day’s work is not only a means to pay the bills, but a way of life.
Unfortunately, today with the fear that surrounds COVID-19 so many of us feel helpless fighting an enemy we can’t see in a way we’re not accustomed to – idly. It’s counterculture in the Show-Me State to think staying home and away from your work is productive.
During difficult and uncertain times like these I’ve found guidance in President Trump and his administration. I feel fortunate to fight alongside an ally in the White House who listens and takes into consideration the challenges rural America faces. Together President Trump and I worked to slash red tape, getting small business loans straight to community banks as well as also deregulating Medicaid so our brave doctors and nurses can do their jobs without interruption from the government.
Each time we’ve faced a historical crisis like COVID-19 it’s been the American spirit and resiliency that has enabled us to bounce back stronger than before. These coming weeks will be no different.
Sincerely,
Jason Smith
