Hi John,
Right now, our elected state representatives need to fight for two crucial bills: A.4099-A/S.4667-A and A.8878/S.8152. These bills are essential for ensuring every child in New York has access to a quality education, from early childhood through their school years.
A.4099-A/S.4667-A would allow families quick access to child care assistance while waiting for application processing to be completed, so parents do not lose job opportunities and children experience more continuity of care. A.8878/S.8152 would make it easier for working parents, including those in the gig economy or sectors like retail with fluctuating schedules, to access child care by decoupling child care assistance from their work hours. This measure was overwhelmingly passed by the Legislature in 2023 but vetoed by the Governor, who suggested it be considered during the budget process, yet it was then excluded from the final budget despite being included in both one-house budgets this past year.
Your representatives need to hear from you, urging them to support both bills. Take our easy-to-use email template and send your message in just a few clicks.
Thanks for joining us in this important fight!
In solidarity,
