Come to the UK’s biggest-ever nature march in June
Restore Nature Now - June 22nd 2024

Hello John

On Saturday 22nd June thousands of us including some familiar faces such as Chris Packham, pictured below will be marching for nature in central London.

It will be a peaceful, inclusive and family-friendly demonstration, supported by 150 organisations including the RSPB, National Trust, and Woodland Trust alongside Extinction Rebellion.

Restore Nature Now aims to be the biggest gathering of people for nature and climate the UK has ever seen. It will be a celebration of British nature and a call for urgent political action on the Climate and Ecological Emergency

We’d love to see you there. Click below for info including the programme for the day, how to get involved as a volunteer and more.

The climate crisis, already devastating wildlife around so much of the world, is also having a dreadful impact closer to home.

We’ll be marching for puffins and kittiwakes. They could largely disappear from the UK’s coast in the coming years. They survive on small eel-like fish called sandeels, which thrive in colder waters. Thanks to the climate crisis, summertime sea temperatures in the UK are now 4 to 5 degrees above average.

We’ll be marching for oak trees. They support over 2,300 other species, making them vital for the woodland environment. But our ancient oaks cannot adapt fast enough to our changing climate, and are under pressure from extreme climate events that bring droughts or flooding, and from new pests and diseases.

And we’ll be marching for bees. Nearly a quarter of Europe’s bumblebee species are now threatened with extinction. Shifting seasons and extreme weather mean bees struggle to pollinate because their natural cycles no longer sync with the flowering seasons.

Join the Restore Nature Now march on 22nd June to send a message to those in power: nature needs us all.

Love and birdsong,
