John,
Western Minnesota is the home of vibrant, multi-generational farming communities. I had the privilege of representing many of them in the Minnesota Legislature, especially in the dairy industry.
But I must admit, I was amazed at last week’s reporting by the Red River Farm Network of the latest agricultural data from the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Based on sales, MN-07 is ranked fourth nationwide.
This is an amazing recognition and tribute to the hard working families across our district, and even more motivation to support their work in the next Farm Bill.
John, that’s why I’m so excited about this year’s Farm Bill. It moves away from a radical climate agenda and refocuses on what truly matters—our farm families and communities.
Based on your input, I’ve sponsored legislation to:
- Prevent California’s anti-agriculture regulations from burdening farmers and ranchers
- Stop companies from labeling milk-alternatives as milk
- Ease regulatory barriers and offer U.S. Department of Agriculture meat processing grants for small processors
- Protect American food products from unfair trade practices by foreign countries
You asked for a bill that lowers the cost of crop insurance and strengthens the farm risk safety net. I am thankful to Chairman Thompson and House Republicans for listening to your concerns.

Whether you’re from a rural, suburban, or urban area, this bill impacts all of us. The work our farmers do daily is essential and for that, I am so grateful.
