We are seeing the effects of climate change firsthand in the form of longer, more destructive wildfire seasons each year. The Seattle Times is even reporting that Western WA is predicted to have an “above normal fire risk” this upcoming summer.

As wildfires become more frequent and intense, we must ensure that our communities have the resources they need to prevent, prepare, combat, and recover from natural disasters.

That’s exactly what Maria is doing: Just last week, she helped to secure over $25 million in wildfire defense funds for our state.

This will go a long way in protecting communities across Washington. Sign on here to thank Maria for her tireless commitment to climate resilience! [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

The climate crisis is already here, so we can’t waste any time in ensuring that our communities are protected and prepared.

Any efforts to combat climate change must include disaster preparedness and mitigation, and Maria understands that. She has long been on the forefront of this fight in the Senate, and she’s not letting up now.

As Washington faces another wildfire season, Maria’s work to enhance emergency response and reduce risk is sure to save lives and property across the state.
