Next week, we're closing out Mental Health Awareness Month with two can't-miss virtual events. On Thursday, May 30, AFSP is hosting back-to-back discussions with several important figures in entertainment, Director Zack Snyder and actor Charlie Hunnam, and Jacoby Shaddix, lead singer of Papa Roach.
- 3pm ET on Thursday, May 30: Director Zack Snyder and actor Charlie Hunnam will be joining a virtual roundtable presented by AFSP’s Greater Los Angeles and Central Coast chapter, featuring AFSP staff and volunteers for a Q&A discussion on topics including general mental health, suicide loss, lived experience, supporting others, and the role of art in our society’s understanding of these important subjects. - 4pm ET on Thursday, May 30: Join us for “Talk Away the Dark: A Musical Conversation with Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach." For this special event, AFSP Director of Writing and Entertainment Outreach Brett Wean will sit down with Papa Roach’s lead singer to discuss the role of music in exploring complex emotions, and how we can all help to #TalkAwayTheDark when someone we know is struggling. We hope you RSVP for these special events, and join us in helping to #TalkAwayTheDark.
