Long odds are nothing new to this grassroots team.

We were outspent 10-1 in the Democratic primary, but this team showed its toughness by working together to out-organize and outmaneuver the outrageous money spent against us.

But doing it again is going to be especially challenging, because my Republican opponent Larry Hogan has near-universal name ID here in Maryland.

Combine that with the tens of millions of dollars worth of dark money pouring into our state from Mitch McConnell’s super PACs and corporate backers, and we have a huge hill to climb to hold Maryland and save our Senate majority.

We’ve defied the odds before, and I know that if we stick together, we can and will do it again. Can I count on you to have my back and pitch in $25 to show Hogan and his ultra-wealthy backers that we’re ready to take them on in November?

This is no ordinary Maryland Senate race, folks.

Mitch McConnell and the rest of the GOP wouldn’t be investing so heavily in this race if they didn’t see it as their best path to retaking the Senate majority.

The deck is stacked against Democrats this election cycle, but the math is very clear on one thing:

There isn’t a world in which we lose Maryland and still maintain Senate control.
