OCA National Convention Celebrates AANHPI Solidarity and Civic Engagement
OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates’ 2024 National Convention, in partnership with JACL and APIAVote, is set to celebrate AANHPI community achievements and encourage civic participation in Philadelphia.
Washington, D.C. — OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates is excited to announce that the 2024 OCA National Convention will take place from July 11 to 14, 2024, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, located in the historic city of Philadelphia, PA — the birthplace of America.
In a powerful collaboration with the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) and APIAVote, OCA stands united in highlighting the importance of civic engagement and solidarity during this critical election year. “AANHPI Impact 2024: Stronger Together” is more than a theme; it is a testament to OCA’s commitment to fostering unity and active participation in American democracy.
OCA’s partnership with JACL and APIAVote aims to amplify the voices and address the concerns of the AANHPI community through the AANHPI Presidential Townhall. This event offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with presidential candidates in this election year. Additionally, OCA is dedicated to showcasing the vast diversity and invaluable contributions of AANHPI individuals in the nation in breakout sessions, while also nurturing the emergence of future leaders.
“With deep appreciation and respect, I extend my heartfelt recognition to our esteemed honorees,” said OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates President Linda Ng. “Their unwavering dedication and invaluable service to the AANHPI community serve as a beacon of excellence. Their significant contributions have not only furthered OCA’s causes and values but have also made a lasting impact. We are honored to consider them not just allies but cherished members of our OCA family.”
This year, OCA is privileged to honor a distinguished group of individuals whose extraordinary efforts have significantly enriched the community:
* Glenn Magpantay, Outstanding Citizen Achievement Award
* Mohan Seshadri, Community Builder Award
* Ed Nakawatase, Pioneer Award
* Debbie Wei, Lifetime of Achievement Award
OCA invites you to join us in Philadelphia to celebrate the profound impact of the AANHPI community and embrace the shared vision of a vibrant democracy. The convention is free and open to the public. While RSVP is encouraged to secure your seat, full-package registrations for the Thursday Welcome Reception and Saturday Night Awards Gala are available online at www.ocanationalconvention.org ([link removed]) .
