The 2024 legislative session has brought with it many ups and downs, and while Gov. Youngkin FINALLY came to the negotiating table to pass a budget with Democrats in the state legislature, he vetoed more than 150 bills this year
Hi, this is Kelsey, the Press Secretary of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
The 2024 legislative session has brought with it many ups and downs, and while Gov. Youngkin FINALLY came to the negotiating table to pass a budget with Democrats in the state legislature, he vetoed more than 200 bills this year – many of which would dramatically change the lives of Virginians for the better.
Some of the bills Youngkin vetoed would protect and expand reproductive rights, raise the minimum wage to $15, and enact gun safety measures to protect our communities.
It’s clear that Glenn Youngkin isn’t putting the people of Virginia first when he vetoes things like a $15 minimum wage – he’s thinking about his big donors and staying in line with MAGA talking points.
