Friend,

Nearly half of Americans report feeling alone, with a lack of
meaningful social interactions on a daily basis. Experts say social
disconnection is as bad for you as smoking and being physically
inactive.

Yesterday, we released the 13th annual ParkScore index, which shows that people living in cities with the highest rankings are more socially connected and engaged than residents of cities with lower rankings. We measured the 100 most populous cities
in five categories: access, investment, amenities, acreage, and
equity.

Using the information from our ParkScore index, we are studying access on a block-by-block basis, pinpointing areas where new parks are most needed, and working with municipal leaders nationwide to improve parks. With your support, we can break down
barriers to park access and create opportunities for people to engage
with nature-and each other.
