Hi everyone – huge news! The House just passed one of Doris’ bills!
Last week, the House passed the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) Reauthorization Act, legislation led by Doris, who is the ranking member of the Communications and Technology Subcommittee.
NTIA is an important federal agency that works to expand internet connectivity and support innovation. Doris’s bill represents the first time in 30 years that NTIA’s rules have been updated. This will help NTIA better plan to use the nation's air waves, establishing responsible guardrails for AI, and boosting broadband infrastructure. Back in 2023, Congress gave NTIA $48.2 billion to help get the internet to people in the US who don't have it. This new law will give NTIA what they need to connect all Americans.
In a world where everything is more connected and technology is more complicated, it's really important for the government to speak with one voice. Doris’s important bill will help ensure that’s the case.
We are so proud of all Doris has been able to accomplish, which includes making the internet and other forms of telecommunications accessible to all. If you’re proud of Doris, her work, and are eager to keep her in congress, chip in $30 now to ensure she remains in Congress to fight for accessible internet for all!
