John,
We know this is a difficult time for many members of our community. Not only are people worried about their health and financial stability, but many are also separated from their loved ones and support systems.
Team Elaine has been busy checking in with members of our community to see how they're doing. We've also been working to ensure our healthcare workers have the masks they need to keep themselves and their patients safe.
So far, our volunteers have made 400 calls and more than 1,000 masks!
If you want to join our efforts, you can sign up to volunteer here: [link removed]
If you're able to help in another way, there are several organizations doing great work that could use your support:
-- You can donate to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank ([link removed]) or the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore ([link removed]) to help feed those in need.
-- You can donate to South Hampton Road United Way's Coronavirus Recovery Fund to provide direct assistance to individuals whose health or employment has been impacted by COVID-19: [link removed]
--The Red Cross has announced severe blood shortages. You can find a place to donate here: [link removed]
--The Norfolk SPCA is seeking pet food donations for their Emergency Pet Pantry to help individuals experiencing financial hardship care for their pets: [link removed]
We're all in this together.
Let's Do Good Work,
Team Elaine
