Hi John,
Climate voters showed up for this primary election, and helped deliver victories to nearly all of OLCV’s endorsed candidates and ballot measures! Overall, we won 68 out of the 78 races that we endorsed in. At least 3 races we weighed in on are headed to a November runoff, which gives us another shot at electing climate champions in those seats. Sadly, we know we lost in 3 races - one of which (House District 33) was a priority race for OLCV. There are still a few races that are too close to call at this point, so we’ll be waiting to see what happens in those races.
This primary election cycle, OLCV knocked over 2,700 doors and called over 2,000 voters and OLCV members for our top priority candidates. None of this would have been possible without the support of our generous members and dedicated volunteers. Thank you for showing your support and voting for climate action! Now let’s look at how our hard work is paying off:
The Secretary of State’s office will be updating election results as postmarked ballots trickle in over the next week. You can follow those updates for races all across the state here. The final primary election results will be certified by June 27th, though media outlets and candidates will call races much sooner than that.
Thank you again for being a voter and for your support electing climate champions!
