A loss of trust in our judiciary system represents a grave threat to our country. Today, I’m asking you to join me in taking an unprecedented action to restore trust in the courts.

Two U.S. Supreme Court justices bear much of the responsibility for squandering the trust of the American people: Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas. 

First, Justice Thomas refused to recuse himself from cases regarding the Jan. 6 hearings despite his wife, Ginni, reportedly plotting to keep Trump in office. That’s on top of his acceptance of luxury gifts, travel, and more from a right-wing Republican donor. 

Now, we’ve learned Justice Alito – just a week after Donald Trump incited an insurrection and attack on the Capitol – flew an upside-down flag outside his Washington, D.C.-area home.

The distress symbol of an upside down American flag has been adopted by Trump supporters to represent their belief that the 2020 election was “stolen” from Donald Trump. Justice Alito and his wife flew it in front of their home during the time the Court was deciding whether to hear a case about the 2020 election. Two justices now have ties to the election denier movement. The credibility of our nation’s highest Court is crumbling. 

Given that the Supreme Court will soon be hearing more cases related to Donald Trump and Jan. 6 culpability, it is incumbent for Justices Thomas and Alito to recuse themselves from all Trump-related cases. 

This is a major moment that demands major grassroots action: I’ve opened an urgent petition and am counting on 10,000 supporters to sign on now and demand Justices Thomas and Alito recuse themselves from any Trump cases heard by the Supreme Court. Please, add your name immediately. >>>

Justices Alito and Thomas have defiled and degraded our high court’s credibility. They have betrayed the trust the American people have for the Court. We must save it. Thank you for taking action with the urgency this moment demands.
