I’d like to share something personal with you, John.

I grew up with a single mom who sometimes had to work two jobs to make ends meet – so when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw firsthand the toll a disease like this takes on a family, and the financial burdens of treatment.

Access to Medicare is what allowed my family to afford her treatment, and I’ll always fight to protect this earned benefit that hardworking Texans have paid into their whole lives.

Ted Cruz? He wants to cut Social Security and Medicare for the folks who have paid into these programs for years. Ted has even compared Social Security to a Ponzi scheme.

John, if you disagree – if you think Medicare and Social Security are worth protecting – will you join me and sign my petition demanding Congress protect Social Security and Medicare?

Thanks to Social Security, our seniors are able to retire with dignity. And thanks to Medicare, millions of Americans don't have to spend their life savings to get the critical care they need.

But Ted Cruz wants to change that.

John, as Texas' Senator, I won't let that happen. In my time serving in the House, I've continually stood up against efforts to cut benefits.

And that's exactly what I'll do when I get to the Senate, John.

I want to see Congress protect Medicare so that seniors can afford assisted living and full-time care when they need it.

I want to keep these programs solvent, not just for today's seniors, but for generations to come.

Every Texan, every American, deserves to grow old with peace, dignity, and security. And together, we can make it happen.

Will you add your name right now to join me in the fight to protect these hard-earned benefits? Ted Cruz has been scheming for years to cut Social Security and Medicare – it's time to show him that we won't let him.

I'm grateful to have you with me,

Colin
