We asked the commonsense majority to weigh in on debate topics for next month’s Trump-Biden matchup. Here’s what you said.
<<<WOULD YOU SUPPORT A DEAL TO SECURE OUR BORDER AND FIX OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM?>>> ([link removed] )
John,
On Monday, we asked you to let us know which issue you’d most like to see President Biden and former President Trump debate.
With the final results tallied, a clear winner emerged: border security and immigration.
It’s no surprise that so many in the commonsense majority are concerned about the issue. Customs and Border Protection ([link removed] .) reported 2.5 million encounters of migrants occurring at the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year 2023 – the highest on record. Pew now estimates ([link removed] ) that there were 10.5 million undocumented migrants living in the U.S. in 2021, the last year for which data was available.
Members of Congress from both parties are urging President Biden to take action to secure the border, as roughly two-thirds ([link removed] ) of Americans disapprove of his record on the issue. Meanwhile, former President Trump has vowed ([link removed] ) to potentially deport millions of migrants.
America needs a commonsense path forward on this decades-long problem. Unchecked illegal migration into the U.S. creates real security concerns that affect us all, but we need more legal immigrants to fill the thousands of jobs going unfilled. In No Labels’ Common Sense, we outlined ([link removed] ) the broad support for a bipartisan compromise that would make needed increases to border security while fixing our broken immigration system and establishing a pathway to citizenship for the Dreamers.
Will either candidate embrace a commonsense path forward on the issue? Or will America remain trapped in our current cycle of toxic rhetoric on immigration and border security?
We will be watching to see if President Biden or former President Trump can offer a compelling vision for the future on June 27.
In the meantime, let us know: Would you support a deal to improve border security and fix our broken immigration system? ([link removed] )

ATTN: Upcoming No Labels Talks This Friday!
RSVP for Friday’s Call With Seth Cropsey ([link removed] )
Friday, May 24 at 11:30 AM ET
From the death of Iran’s president to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict and the war in Ukraine, the world is so volatile right now. That’s why we’re thrilled to have renowned foreign policy expert Seth Cropsey joining us on the next edition of No Labels Talks, taking place Friday, May 24 at 11:30 AM ET via Zoom.
Cropsey is one of America’s leading thinkers on defense and security issues. He is a former naval officer who has held significant positions such as Deputy Undersecretary of the Navy in the Reagan administration and Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict in the George H. W. Bush administration. Today, he leads the Yorktown Institute as its founder and president.
In his recent Wall Street Journal op-ed, “Weakness Invites War With Iran ([link removed] ) ,” Cropsey writes on the fraught current moment in the Middle East:
“The death of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi may further unsettle the region, but it doesn’t change a fundamental reality: The U.S. has fallen into Iran’s trap. Tehran needed only seven months of war to accomplish a primary strategic objective—dividing the U.S. and Israel. The Biden administration has accelerated a potential rupture with the Jewish state that overwhelmingly benefits America’s enemies in the Eurasian axis. The result will be more war…”
Tune in to hear Mr. Cropsey’s insights on where the Middle East goes from here and a host of other topics. To confirm your spot, click the link below.
We hope to see you there!
