I want to thank each of you who took time earlier this week to respond to our issues survey. Max and I talked about how concerns about healthcare accessibility, economic security, and the climate crisis were common throughout your responses.

The spread of COVID-19 has made plain a truth that we too often forget: We are all in this together. And therefore, the way forward is clear.

1. It's time to implement a universal healthcare system — one that cuts costs, saves lives, and upholds the bedrock principle that healthcare is a human right.
    
2. Economic inequality is at its highest point since before the Great Depression. We can achieve an economy that respects all people, leaving no one behind, and that means raising the federal minimum wage, increasing housing access, and expanding the social safety net so that we can lift our fellow citizens out of poverty.
    
3. Once this public health crisis has passed, we will need to get people back to work and the best way to do that is by taking on climate change. A Green New Deal will not only combat the climate crisis but will also create millions of good, high-paying jobs.

Our race is about bringing these core people-focused values to Congress. As the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, my opponent, Richard Neal is considered one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress. Yet, he has yielded that power to the benefit of health insurance companies, corporate lobbyists, and Wall Street investors.

Richard Neal has had the power to hold President Trump accountable to the American people by demanding Trump release his tax returns, but he continues to refuse to do so. From delaying and gutting a bill to end surprise medical billing to being the only member of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation to refuse to sign on and support a Green New Deal, Richard Neal is everything that is wrong with establishment Democrats.

It is time we take back our voice in our federal government.
