What we are here to do is to transform the politics of this country. And
the only way that we will do that is by winning with mandates.

So when we talk about Jamaal Bowman, what I want us to keep in mind is
that this is not just about win or lose.

What we have to demonstrate — not just to Republicans, but even within our
own party and the entire country — is that we are ready to guarantee
health care to every single American.

We are ready for a politics that unapologetically supports the labor
movement and the right to a union.

We are ready for politics that supports rights to clean air and clean
water; that understands welcoming immigrants is part of supporting our
success as a nation; that we have to dismantle an unjust criminal justice
system, and in order to actually establish public safety, we must open
paths to education.

And we do that by making sure that we aren't just aiming for mere victory.
We are aiming to send Jamaal back with a mandate — that our communities
cannot be bought by special interests.

AIPAC spent $1.9 million against Jamaal just last week,^1 and have committed
spending $18 million more until the NY primary election in less than 5 weeks.

[ [link removed] ]Will you split a $2 contribution today between our campaigns — $1 for each
team — to power our movement and help us win, not by a little but by a lot, on
June 25th?

That's something that I don't think is discussed enough: it's not just the
stances that people like Jamaal Bowman take. It's the fact that he takes
them without taking a dime of corporate lobbyist money.

That is a type of leader that is extraordinarily rare in our politics
today, to have a member of Congress that is not funded by big money or
corporate lobbies.

In my first reelection campaign the entire establishment came after me,
too, and I had a $5 million primary challenge, followed by a $10 million
general election challenge. Now, what Jamaal is facing is orders of
magnitude larger than that.

What we have to show them is that their money is no good here.

[ [link removed] ]Will you make a contribution right now between our campaigns so that we can
win back the House? 6 swing seats run through NY, and we need to preserve each
one — starting with Jamaal’s.

This is a fight for the integrity of our representation. Our communities
cannot and should not be bought.

Our representation should not go to the highest bidder — it should go to
the best leader. And that leader is Jamaal Bowman.

In solidarity,

Alexandria
