Hi Friend,

To understand Trumpism and the MAGA movement you only need to look to one word — FEAR. It's the foundational underpinning of the entire Republican Party and their assault on our country. If you mistakenly believe the "end times" are near, then you probably also believe you need a strongman to protect you from the likes of:

1) immigrants

2) people of color

3) women who fight for their rights

4) the LGBTQ+ community.

And so, what is in the playbook of every dictatorial strongman to protecting the misguided who are driven by fear? It includes:

1) Attacking the judiciary (House Speaker Mike Johnson just said last week that the courts in this country are corrupt)

2) Attacking the free press (every day, Trump and his minions tell you that everything is "fake news")

3) Attacking the electoral process (promoting the notion that the electoral system is rigged)

4) "Othering" groups (advancing the notion that some people are "poisoning the blood of our nation").

This is the authoritarian's playbook and its exactly how democracy dies.   

I need your help to dismantle this playbook, to fight the doomsayers and to protect this country from the morally bankrupt, the xenophobes and the hate-mongers who are intent on ending America as we know it.
