Friend,
We’re proud to announce the launch of Education for All — a national campaign dedicated to protecting the right to public education for every child, no matter who they are or where they were born.
Forty-two years ago, in the landmark case Plyler v. Doe, the Supreme Court affirmed that states cannot deny students access to public K-12 education based on their immigration status. Since then, NILC has successfully stopped attacks on Plyler in court and legislatures, working at local and state levels to expand upon its promise — ensuring that more students have access to the tools and supports they need to thrive.
Now, in the face of attacks, we are working to build a powerful movement, joined by 34 organizations, committed to defending the right to learn. We will not allow extremist politicians and organizations to scapegoat immigrant communities and erode public education, jeopardizing the future for all children.
Friend, we invite you to join our movement for Education for All. Sign our petition to endorse our campaign and stand up for every child’s right to public education >>>
Access to education is fundamental to a healthy society and our country’s democracy. When children are denied the opportunity to learn, collaborate, gain skills, and identify their dreams, our communities suffer.
It’s in our collective interest to protect the right to learn for all students. Today’s children become tomorrow’s leaders – that’s why this is a fight for the future. We hope you’ll join us.
More to come,
Kica Matos
