If we want to achieve our vision of a true democracy that is of, by and for the people, we desperately need progressive champions like her serving in Congress. Indivisibles --
We are ecstatic to announce our latest endorsement of the 2024 primary season: The future congresswoman for Arizona’s Third District, Raquel Terán!
Terán got her start in activism like so many in our movement -- with a clipboard and a pen, registering members of her community to vote. Her political awakening came in response to the ascendance of bigoted, far-right leaders who rose to power in Arizona by fueling anti-immigrant sentiment. She decided to fight back.
And over and over, she’s won.
She successfully organized to defeat the notorious Sheriff Joe Arpaio and recall the state senator behind Arizona’s horrendous “show me your papers” law. She was instrumental in building the coalitions that defeated MAGA extremists Kari Lake and Blake Masters.
In 2021, she ran for office herself, and won her race for Arizona’s 30th House District. As a lawmaker, she fought tirelessly for working people: expanding access to healthcare, raising Arizona’s minimum wage, providing paid sick leave to Arizona’s working families, fighting attacks on reproductive rights, and so much more.
Raquel Terán argues that the path to preserving democracy runs through Arizona. We couldn’t agree more. That’s why we’ve invested so much in building out our infrastructure in the crucial battleground. And it’s why two of our early endorsements have come in the state: First, Ruben Gallego for Senate, and now Terán to fill his seat and add a strong voice for working people and democratic values to the US House of Representatives.
This is going to be a close, hard-fought primary. But AZ-03 Indivisibles are going to be on the ground, fighting for her like she’s fought for the people of her district and state. This endorsement means we’ll be backing their efforts with a suite of resources and support.

If we want to achieve our vision of a true democracy that is of, by, and for the people, we desperately need progressive champions like Terán serving in Congress. And we need to fight as hard as she has to defeat MAGA extremists up and down the ballot.
Let’s take some inspiration from our newest endorsee as we organize our communities to win!
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
