Update: How To Get Your Direct Check If You Didn't File Taxes*

This Coronavirus pandemic is hurting working Montanans across our
state. During these tough times, I fought to ensure we get Montanans
some relief in their pocketbooks as we work together to overcome this
crisis.
That's why in the Coronavirus Economic Recovery Package, I
fought to include a one-time* $1,200 per person ($2,400 per couple)
direct check and $500 per child. *
If you are on Social Security and
getting direct deposits, or have filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 you will not
have to do *ANYTHING*.
For those who have not filed a tax return, if
you receive veterans disability compensation, a pension, or survivor
benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS has released
a new online portal to help you get your direct check.
You can
provide the necessary information to the IRS easily and quickly for no
fee.
The IRS will use this information to determine your eligibility and
payment amount and send you a direct check. After providing this
information you won't need to take any additional action.
