In May 1919, legislators passed the 19th Amendment through the House to grant women the right to vote, marking a significant milestone in our nation’s history.

The 19th Amendment ignited a wave of victories for women's equality. And over the past century, women have continued to create a seat at the table, break barriers, and shatter stereotypes.

Yet, as we reflect on this anniversary, Republican leaders are actively suppressing our voting power and the voices of marginalized groups. They are shamelessly manipulating district lines through gerrymandering, restricting voter ID laws, or introducing bills that undermine our voting rights.

Republican extremists are well aware of the voting potential Democrats have, so they’re doing any and everything to suppress our voices. It's time for us to reclaim our power and remind them politicians don't dictate our democracy—the people do.
