Africa & Europe

Please pray for the family of one of our survivors in Uganda. The survivor's mother is both a single mom to two children and a student currently preparing for her final exams. Due to COVID-19, the children are no longer able to stay at the shelter where the survivor was receiving aftercare, and are having to stay with their mother in her university hostel room. As a student, the survivor's mother currently has no livelihood, and the lack of support from the shelter leaves this already vulnerable family even more vulnerable. Please pray for their safety and protection from the virus in the midst of these difficulties.

Latin America
-
Pray for our team in El Salvador as they work alongside public justice system officials to protect the most vulnerable in a country where almost a third of the population lives in poverty. Pray for God's wisdom and protection for our team as they find creative ways to support public justice system authorities to better serve survivors of violence while complying with the current strict quarantine measures.

South Asia
-
Please pray for IJM's outreach to women and families living in red-light districts in the cities where we work. Due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, these women have no income and are becoming desperate to support their children. IJM and our partners are working hard to provide them with food and hygiene kits. Pray that we can also support the local government well as they protect these women and their families during this time of need, and pray that traffickers and brothel keepers do not inflict more violence on vulnerable women during the turmoil.

Southeast Asia
-
Praise the Lord for the incredible momentum the Philippines team achieved in the first few months of the year. Perpetrators are being convicted on a weekly basis and the judgments are sending a clear message that the Philippine government and rule of law are on the side of vulnerable children. Pray a prayer of protection over these children, as community lockdowns and increasing economic strain elevate the possibilities for the exploitation of children. Pray that God would convict the hearts of the perpetrators and extend a hand of protection over the most vulnerable.
