Dear
Friend,
Thank you
for understanding the important role policy plays in our lives. Last
week, we unveiled our COVID-19 Response Letter that 65 other organizations signed onto. We
have sent it to members of Congress, but we need your
support.
Contact
your legislators now and demand they respond to COVID-19 with an RJ
framework.
As
legislation advances in response to COVID-19, URGE:
Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity is continuing to roll out the Young
People’s Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda (the Policy
Agenda), a grassroots
policy agenda with six policy sections:
- Real
Abortion Access
- Sexuality Education
- Democracy Reform
- Economic
Justice
- Decriminalize & Create Safe Communities
- Immigrant Justice
For many
young people across the country, comprehensive LGBTQIA+ inclusive
sexual health information and services are pushed out of reach by
homophobic and discriminatory policies, lack of funding for real sex
ed, and inadequate sexual and reproductive health services. Young
people continue to be denied the rights, resources, and respect
necessary to live and make sexual and reproductive health decisions
with dignity. Our policy goal is to end restrictions on — and make
robust investment in — comprehensive LGBTQIA+ inclusive sex education
and services regardless of age, income, zip code, or immigration
status.
