John,
I have some big news that will shape the outcome of this campaign: our election has been pushed back to July 7th. I’m grateful that Governor Murphy acknowledges the risk of holding our Primary earlier and has taken the necessary steps to protect voters. We don’t want to be the next Wisconsin.
While this decision is obviously made in the interest of public health, it does have some political implications we need to adjust to.
- Our campaign just got more expensive. 35 additional days of advertising will completely reshape our budget.
- We have more time to bring in new supporters. I’ve already instructed my team to adjust our outreach schedule and increase our goals.
- This will confuse some voters. People are used to their elections happening at the same time. We’re doing everything we can to inform our supporters.
We need to adjust to this new election date as quickly as possible. Any time I’ve asked this team to help us hit our goal – you’ve stepped up. Can you help one more time to keep us on track?
Thank you so much for your continued support.
-Brigid
