Last night a bunch of people started texting me that I had to watch Donald Trump’s new campaign video. The premise seemed like a typical politician video - imagining what the country would be like if he won a 2nd term.
I wasn’t super interested. Turns out, I should have been. When I finally watched the video it was absolutely not a normal campaign video. Donald Trump included a promise of “the creation of a Unified Reich”.
If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I’m not sure I would have believed it.
The history books warned us about a man like this. We have a potential future President openly promising to make our country into Nazi Germany. Trump now is saying he didn’t see the video but I don’t believe it. We know this guy is on social media all day long, he sees everything his campaign puts out.
I’m begging you: please do not normalize this. Every single time Trump threatens our democracy we have to call it out. Have we not learned our lesson after January 6th?
Donald Trump is currently resorting to out-right fascism to mobilize his MAGA base. He’s saying the quiet part out loud. We have to believe him.
