The Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council will meet at the Rhodes Center in Tacoma on Thursday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Meeting highlights include:
- A presentation and discussion about the 2025-27 Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration (PSAR) program. The PSAR program provides fundamental support to salmon recovery in Puget Sound by implementing regionally significant habitat protection and restoration priorities. Staff will update Salmon Recovery Council members on the 2025-2027 PSAR Large Capital Projects grant round, including the timeline and progress for developing the ranked project list. Staff will also provide an update on funding opportunities for large capital projects through the Climate Commitment Act. Presentation by Marlies Wierenga, PSAR program manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about federal updates and Puget Sound Day on the Hill. Staff will brief members on the activities from Puget Sound Day on the Hill, held last week in Washington, D.C. (May 13-17). Staff will also provide updates on progress with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s no-rise policy and on the work of the Puget Sound Federal Leadership Task Force. Presentation by Ahren Stroming, special assistant for federal affairs at the Puget Sound Partnership.
- A presentation and discussion about the recent activities of the Salmon Recovery Council's Accelerating Progress Committee. The committee is developing a suite of actions for the Salmon Recovery Council to consider that will accelerate the implementation of salmon habitat restoration projects in Puget Sound. This session will provide a report on their current work and engagement with partners. Presentation by Kit Crump, co-vice chair of the Salmon Recovery Council and floodplain services supervisor, Snohomish County Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Cindy Wolf, Salmon Recovery Council member and San Juan County Council member.
- A presentation and discussion about the first round of revisions for the Salmon Recovery Plan Addendum and input from the second round of Tribal consultations. The Addendum will guide the Puget Sound regional salmon recovery organization's actions over the next decade. Staff will also seek feedback on key changes to the draft through facilitated discussion groups. Presentation by Melissa Speeg, salmon recovery manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Ashley Bagley, salmon policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership.
