On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment was officially passed, adding to the fight to that gave women in our nation the ability to vote in all elections. This landmark piece of legislation was made possible by women who didn't take no for an answer – women who stood on the frontlines and demanded equal participation in our democracy.

While the legislation wasn't perfect, it paved the way for progress in our country.

Today, that progress has stalled. Republicans are actively using their slim majority to erode voting rights wherever they can. And instead of defending voting rights, our highly conservative Supreme Court has stood in lockstep with Republicans – validating their efforts to restrict millions of Americans' access to the ballot box.

Make no mistake: this is a clear, blatant effort by Republicans aimed at rigging the results in their favor.
