Hi there,

Voting is for citizens only.

That seems obvious.

And when noncitizens want to vote, they show their commitment to American ideals by working to become citizens.

But around the nation, progressive politicians want non-citizens to vote. And sometimes they’re successful.

That’s a problem. But there are some things we can do in North Carolina to push back.

Local governments have a LOT of leeway to decide who votes in their elections. For instance, cities like Washington, D.C. let noncitizens vote.

And unfortunately, North Carolina law doesn’t clearly deny noncitizens the right to vote.

I’m sure you can already picture an ideologically-driven progressive judge exploiting that loophole.

In fact, a federal judge already dismissed a case opposing Washington, D.C.’s noncitizen voting law—and we don’t want that to happen here.

That’s why we need our state constitution to clearly prohibit noncitizen voting.

There’s already a bill in the General Assembly that would make this change. And if the vote is opened to the North Carolina population, it will pass.

We must make our constitution clear beyond a doubt: Voting is only for citizens.

You can learn more about this bill and noncitizen voting from our expert, Dr. Andy Jackson.
