Friend,
Our Governor claims to be moderate, but would 'a moderate' veto a bill establishing a Right to Contraception?
That's exactly what happened on Friday when the Governor vetoed my Virginia Right to Contraception Act (SB237). This comes after he attempted to gut the legislation, make it a soft policy statement only rather than a law, and remove all references to contraceptives, including IUDs, condoms, birth control pills, and emergency contraceptives.
Let's be clear: This would never happen with Democrats leading the state, which is why it is so critical to elect a Democratic trifecta in 2025.
As your Lieutenant Governor, I will fight to protect access to contraceptives, protect menstrual data privacy, and protect abortion care because these are your rights, your information, and your choice.
In post-Dobbs America, our fundamental right to contraception is under threat due to MAGA extremist politicians and judges aiming to restrict reproductive rights, putting the health and wellbeing of millions at-risk. We can't afford to wait, we need to act now.
