Hi John!
Good news! 🎉 Yesterday, the Minnesota Voting Rights Act and other important election reforms were signed into law — a major step forward to protect democracy in the state. These changes include:
🗳️ Prohibiting voter suppression
🗳️ Making it easier for college students to vote
🗳️ Ending prison gerrymandering, ensuring incarcerated individuals are counted in the state census at their last address rather than their place of incarceration
🗳️ Outlining consequences for using AI to influence elections
Minnesota is now the seventh state to pass a state-level Voting Rights Act. Voting rights protect every other right, and we must work to ensure every American can freely and fairly cast a ballot in this year’s election.
John, new laws like this will help even more voters make their voices heard. As we gear up for a big month of activations in June, we’re asking for your help. Can you make a $10 donation to help us register voters this summer?
