John — Over 100 years have passed since women won the right to vote with the 19th Amendment. Today, we celebrate all those who fought for decades to advance women’s suffrage, and we continue the fight to make sure everyone has a voice in our democracy.
As we take the time to reflect on how far we've come, let’s also recognize how much further we have to go to safeguard our tradition of elections.
John, the reality we are facing is that the right to vote in our nation is under attack by a GOP nominee and former president who has done everything in his power to invoke fear in our elections and silence the voices of those who don't agree with him. From inciting an insurrection to attempting to steal the presidency by creating fake electors — Donald Trump has shown that he is more than ready to destroy the pillars of our democracy.
Chris knows that the right to vote is the most important tool in any democracy. Our government was created by the people, for the people — not to cater to the whim of a failed reality TV star. As citizens, we must use our voice to keep Trump's cronies out of office, safeguard the voice of the people against MAGA state legislatures, and make sure everyone who is eligible can cast their vote on November 5.
This day is a reminder of everything Americans have done to have their voice heard in every election — and our duty to honor their legacy with our actions. If you're ready to stand with Chris for our voting rights, add your name to this petition >>
